Agreed. This is one area where Porsche is a bit different. Very accessable and easy to work on compared to other Euro cars, especially Merc & BMW. I can't change the spark plugs on my wife's Mercedes due to turbo plumbing and how it is ported into the valve cover and intake manifold. Totally...
My Current 2 wheel herd. Love them all. Each has its charms and purpose, but if I had to go to 2-3 it would be the XS11, Norge and Stornello. Then again not sure I could part with the Convert or GRiSO 🤣🤣🤣
1976 Motoguzzi 1000 Convert
1978 Yamaha XS750 Triple
1978 Yamaha XS 1100 (owned since...
The fact that someone would even say Mustang and 911 in the same sentence is evidence of how far the Mustang has come.
I find the GT to be a bit bland but the Mach 1, Bullitt, GT 350/500 are all very well executed.
That said, none can truly hold a candle to the overall engineering marvel of...
You do realize that the markup would be the same for the base GT parts and the PP1 right? That would put you at the same Delta. Remember the question was what is the difference in cost between the base GT and PP1 parts.
Although it is possible to source some OEM parts from RockAuto I doubt you...
I think a simple way to estimate the difference would be to build a complete list of every part that is different, and then go to a Ford dealer parts catalog and build a spreadsheet with two columns column A is the standard part column B is the PP1 part.
That at least would give you a good idea...
Is there any kind of tutorial for how to navigate through these changes? I have the Bluetooth scanner and forscan program but get lost in the software.
I also have the cables and program on my laptop but can't make heads or tails of any of it.
I find my steering to be extremely precise in the...
That sound would make me nuts...
I had a similar noise from the passenger seat that drove me crazy. The plastic trim on the lower edge of the seat where the controls are wood buzz and rattle if no one was sitting in the seat. I solved it by putting a 1-in square piece of door insulation...
This made me laugh out loud.....
I think it's in pretty well established that the OCI indicator on the S550 mustangs is a joke.
The oil life monitor or oil change indicator is just a moneymaker (Just like the CEL) for dealerships for the lemmings who have their cars serviced by the dealer...
A full Ester Synthetic is almost fully synthetic because it doesn't start from mineral oil like most synthetics do.
After observing that the oil life monitor was more based on time than actual engine use or particulate matter, I ignore it, and reset it whenever it comes on. The car is not...
If I was a dealer, I'd have my techs check the threads............. Might be a good idea to delete this thread, especially those roasted tires.
Good Luck!
You will miss the power of the V8, but the car is a ton of fun. I seriously considered the Su, baru version a while back, but ended up with the Bullitt. Tons of character and great manners on the track and street, plus a huge aftermarket much like the Mustang. Never underestimate the pleasure...
I agree. Tach on Right puts it out of the line of sight in the upper rev range. I love the 5 Gauge setup on my 1976 Porsche. Big Tach in the Center, Speedo to the Right of Center, and Critical Temp and Oil Temp/Pressure Gauges to the left, with clock and fuel farthest out. ALL Performance Cars...
Yep... Rule number one with one of the rear engine air cooled Porsche is to drive it like you would ride a motorcycle in the twisties.
The one benefit with the 912 is the motor is lighter and it is almost a perfect 50/50 balance with a full tank of fuel. My motor is highly modified and puts out...
