I don't think it will be available with strips (sic). I would think the R will not be available with stripes, but the GT350 will.
I dunno, I think YF would look good with that red accent stripe. Ruby Red where stripes aren't available on the R, is a good call not to have IMO.

Orange Fury has been posted. And yes, at least the normal GT350 will have stripes, not sure about the R, but I agree with your thinking.

Pretty cool picture IMO!

Anyone notice the VIN on this Pilot Production 2018 GT350?

If my old eyes are working correctly this morning this car is the second PP car produced.

As I had thought Ford is going from "H" in the VIN for the 2017MY and jumping over "I" and using "J" for the 2018MY which certainly makes some sense.

Any of you ordering a 2018 R model your chassis number will be "JRXXX" and not "IRXXX".

Still hard to believe that Ford will supposedly produce ~2000 R models for the 2018MY especially with a late production startup but then again I have learned with Ford never say never.

where did you hear 2000 R models?
Check out post #5 on this thread that talks about up to 1800 R models for the 2018MY with 2000 R models mentioned on another thread.

Jimmy, if Ford builds ~2000 R models for the 2018MY I agree with you that there will certainly be some MSRP deals out there.

I'm going out on a limb and suggest that "JR033" or "JR333" should be your number as that would be pretty cool for sure.

Now what color combination would you go with and what options?

Like you I am a numbers guy (I like the number 3) and when purchasing a 2013 Boss 302 Laguna Seca back in 2012 a GHIG Boss 302 was also sitting on the showroom floor in Katy, Texas and because it was chassis number "333" I bought it on the spot and it now belongs to a good friend of mine over in Augusta.

It wasn't until sometime later that I told Peter that "333" had a one piece CF drive shaft in the car and he was shocked and did not know that. Of course I gave him the original 2 piece drive shaft as he is a great friend.

:thumbsup::thumbsup:

i dont believe it. post 5 also says 18 gt350 production has already started yet order banks are still not open and the screenshot that is going around saying no 18 mustang production till october. 1800 R cars seems pretty far fetched

I believe the 2000 R's could happen. Several dealers around me have multiple GT350's that have been sitting in their showroom for over 2 months! There's a dozen new ones locally. The used ones are starting to stack up everywhere I look also. Why produce 5K more GT350's with all the standing inventory everywhere?

The demand for the R is still through the roof. If Ford can come up with the parts to make the R's, they have nothing holding them back. They are a business to manufacture and make money, not to limit runs of cars they can cash in on.

This is not the ford GT.

Agreed and in addition to that I am still having a hard time comprehending ~1000 R's for the 2017MY let alone possibly double that production amount for the 2018MY.

;)

So if I understand correctly production for the 2018 GT350/GT350R's will start sometime this coming October and based on the last couple of production years for the R model that would mean production for the R models would not start until the spring (March) of 2018.

Assuming that the start up production dates (October) are accurate for the GT350R's are you suggesting that Ford will start producing R models in March 2018 and will produce 2000 units before the end of the 2018MY?

Hard for me to really grasp that one!!

Why would you base the upcoming production year on the former ones? Everything is different this year! Just look how long they are taking to start MY18... The last few years plans are not the same as MY18, so production priority could easily be switched/swapped. The rumor was that the CF wheels were on hold before, and are now not a problem, it seems to make sense there would be no reason to push production till March 2018?

It's not like they are harvesting R's only in a particular season. :D
