The Fusion will not be coming back to Flat Rock. Last one rolled off the assembly line yesterday.
MKZ and new Continental will be built at Flat Rock along side the S550.
Should be enough capacity to build a LincStang also. ;)
On that note, the new 3.0 400hp in the new Continental is MIGHTY...
Don't forget Auto Start/Stop.
Personally, I think they didn't do DI for this gen of 5.0 is that it makes it VERY difficult to add forced induction to it. You can't just throw bigger injectors into a DI engine and tweak the fuel pump to add more fuel. Not a simple thing to do with a Direct...
Sorry to hear about your engine.
A few observations:
1. Roush says on their website that their CAI will NOT void factory warranty.
2. If your idle was fluctuating sounds like you had an intake leak. ie, tubes were not lined up right or clamps were not tight. Did it set the check engine light...
Agreed, initially 5.2 cross plane Coyote, then DI it around 2018.
As others have said, FI and DI can work, but not as easy as PI to get BIG power from, as present HPFPs can't keep up with the fuel demand.
Same reason you can't get big power and run E85 in them.
10 speed in 2017/18...
That's a REALLY bad idea!
There is a reason it was banned from being used in house wiring.
Multi-plex wiring is the next innovation in automotive wiring, in things that do not require large current, much like the wiring in computers and home electronics.

Interesting theory,
the 2016 Camaro is heavier on the left front...
and 81 lbs heavier on the RR vs LR
GT350 is:
110 lbs heavier on LR vs RR
but I'm thinking the seam in the concrete on the RR is affecting corner weights.

Yep, them big bellowing bananas. Lots of torque but extremely rev limited.
The only thing the C7R engines have in common with NASCAR engines is that they are both small block, OHV cam in block engines.
They share almost no common parts. They have different blocks, heads, pistons, cranks, C7Rs...

Hmmm,
a 458 GT3 is 4th in points, so it can run w the Vettes.
As far as the CR7 (sic) being NASCAR tech...
Thanks for doing the comparo Beefcake,
Interesting thing that I see in this graph is the actual throttle angle on both cars shows 85%.
Any reason that you know of as to why it's not reaching 100%??

The 3.5 is NOT a big engine. Block and heads are the same size as the 3.7.
It's it's shorter than a 5.0. Ford considers it a "Premium engine", and charges more for it, because it get's slightly better mileage than a 5.0 but and has more torque AND because it costs more to build than a 5.0.
The...
Really?
I have a 2010 SHO and average 28-29 mpg highway at 70-75 and 30+ in flat interstates. Better that the EPA estimates.
Around town it's only 15-16, but it's so much fun, it's hard not to get into the boost with it, thereby killing the mileage. :D

Call me skeptical
Ummm,
Not to sound tooo skeptical, but,
How can they quote gains on a car they don't even have yet?
Personally I'd be looking for a place that has experience tuning EB engines,
like Livernois or Cobb.
I have a Livernois tune in my 2010 SHO. It's fantastic!
And they have yet...
I asked a dealer close to me, (on Long Island) last Thursday when he expected to start getting the new Mustangs in and
he said not til the end of October...:(
Doesn't leave much time to drive em before the snow hits! :frusty:
