Who has a tow hook on their S550 or advice on installing and where did you get yours?

I just installed the Ford Performance tow hook...I love it and don't mind the ricey look. I can give some pictures and show the process. I am only running the front one currently, still need to install the rear one.

Removed the front bumper.

Removed the crash bar.

Marked center line on crash bar BOTTOM. Took me 2 hours to drill through the crash bar in 3 spots...very solid metal, testament to ford crash bar safety (chuckle). I had very old drill bits...so I suggest high quality metal ones or a drill press to make this easy.

Trimming grille...this took me three tries to get right, finally just had to cut most of it out in th emiddle to make it decently nice. Ignore my ugly face behind the phone.

Finished product.

Thank you! Love how it turned out, matches my very small miniscule red accents I have all around the car. Kind of sells the "racecar" look (and function lmao).

I think my favorite is when kids go "MOM LOOK A RACECAR". And I smile and give them a little rev.

I went with Vorshlag front and rear tow hooks. The rear installs without any cutting or modifications. The front does require cutting a slot in the lower plastic grill. I haven’t installed the front yet (should be able to get to it this weekend).

I like this! Were there any issues with breaking tabs on the number during removal and installation? How thick is the tow hook? Do you feel it would hold up to repeated use without bending?

i have the zl1 ad ons front tow hook , install was easy but i have a lift , its a bolt on thing and can be taken off and no one would know it was ever there . 19 gt preminum non pp

I’m curious if anyone who’s done a Mach1 bumper swap has also swapped over the impact bar, which I assume already has the female threads for the tow hook. I’ve been considering doing it but haven’t gotten around to researching into it.

@Trout1 These are definitely the ones I would advise going with.

The Ford Performance were the best for 2015-2017 mustangs like mine, no others compared. The Vorshlag would have been my first choice, but they only fit 2018+.

Rear mounted Ford Performance tow hook with Bemaro brackets housing ECCO ED9040 RED/WHITE LED lights. The lights are common on police/municipal vehicles and can be wired and programmed for multiple functions.

Front tow hooks are pretty common on sports cars. They can be used to tow the car or to tie it down when you're transporting it. I always find them handy for that reason.

ford performance both ends and like John i hve some l.e.d.'s as rev. lights.
