I can just see the conversation at the average Ford dealership when these cars come in...

Service Manager: Hey Technician Guy, PDI that GT350 R model that just arrived.
Technician Guy: Okay, Is there a checklist I should go through? Is there a video I should watch on how to install the chin splitter?
Service Manager: There's no time for that, just wing it, the owner will figure out whatever you missed.

Doesn't matter what the conversation was, it's unacceptable...

I had never really got down on my R until today. Glad I didn't since the spacers were still in. Now, it's night and day. Stupid crazy how two little bushings make such a difference... Even more stupid how a neglected PDI can make a real street-race car ride like a turd with all the porpoising.

Smh.

Thanks again, Donson!!! Glad we had that talk the other day.

So can someone help me understand this? Do all R's need to do this or get the SSM done? Or is this a case by case deal?
No its case by case; only if your car has the Error message and the DTC. If you think the ride in your car is off, you might be able to get them to do the same procedure.

You can clearly see them if they are on. Kneel down and look under the fender straight about the tire. They are bright yellow. Can't miss them if there still on.

There were several of these, I just posted them in the Roadcourse forum so I guess no one else looked at them. I think I have more on my laptop. There is a bulletin from Ford directly related to the PDI and removing the transport spacers (so they don't scrape)

Don't know when the other one decided to leave, but only had one on the drivers side front of mine.

Here is what the rear spacers look like installed in the back for the R's, photo courtesy of "DrumReaper" rear wheels need to be drooping, or wheel removed for easy access. P.S. Mine are still in there...:frusty:
