Actually, this is pretty much what they did with the Scion FRS. There's lots of info and tests out there on this but they basically made it a rwd car with hard tires so it would be fun to drive at low speeds and accelerations. ".... Buy a Prius in Europe upgraded with 17-in. wheels, and you'll get these same sad tires. That's right, these sporty coupes [Subaru-Scion twins] have hybrid tires, tuned for low rolling resistance, not grip."Separating belts do give that fear factor at slow speeds. It doesn’t have to be that dangerous but we can have the tires hard and noisy with some slip in the corners. I see where you are getting at. Fear for your life, but at legal speeds!
DrGrabster, sometimes your are truly devious, positively Machiavellian in your methods or thinking - but you may have something there! Insert a little anarchy into the handling - like the early rear engine Porsche’s that liked to swap ends. Some call it character, some call it a car that must be respected; but all called it desirable.
Dude you Rock!
Maybe you should get an FRS.....or anything but an S550 since you dislike so much about it.
