FWIW: Instead of “ripping” the sound tube out of the firewall, you can easily remove the nut that holds its mounting bracket from under the car.

Here’s what I used:
- 1/4” drive ratchet
- 11” of extensions
- 10mm deep well socket
- 1/4” U-Joint
