When I drag race motorcycle we stopped by local air strip and got av gas. You could get it all the way up to 140 octane.

Most airports carry 100LL which is 100 octane low lead. Still has lead in it.

Yes, it is low lead and my ex drag KZ1000 loves it as well as my old shovelhead.

I haven't checked Sunoco since they dropped the 94, maybe it's back.
:fingerscrossed:

I had an original '77 KZ1000 I bought new while in college and put over 80k miles on it traveling all over the western US. Still wish I had that thing and kick myself for ever selling it.

AV gas had a distinct smell and look. The odor was spicy and the look was blueish. The coolest part was the smell coming out the pipes. My right arm was always speckled from the unburnt fuel

Here is my KZ1000 ex drag bike that is now street legal and very fun. It was a high 9 second bike with slick and wheelie bars.

Sunoco now switched from 93 to 94 at least in South Jersey about a month ago in my area.
I’m in Toms River and haven’t seen that yet.
I have an Eco HP and have used Sunoco, Shell, and Exxon exclusively….all 93 octane. I find of the three, the acceleration and mileage was better using Exxon. Worst was with Sunoco, which has been my go-to gas for 40+ years. Shell was so-so…didn’t feel the acceleration was the same as using Exxon. Like they say, YMMV.

Another funny fact is if they had moved that camera 30 degrees to the right you would have seen natural streams of oil spewing into the gulf.
natural seeps in the Gulf of Mexico release an estimated average of 560,000-1.4 million barrels of oil per year, which is roughly equivalent to the amount released during the Deepwater Horizon spill every 1-3 years.

You would never feel the difference in a few octane rating at all, it would all be a placebo effect. You would need drag or dragy times, and even then the numbers would be probably the same.
