I was sold on a new ZL1 but the 5.0 modded seems to offer better performance than the stock ZL1

The PP1 looks ok but the wheels are way too small, so is it a better option to get the base and DIY the suspension, breaks and put new P4Ss 305s on the car instead of taking the stock 275 rubber? Would it cost about the same?

For mods I guess I'm looking at new injectors to go with the blower, but how much else would I be dumping I to the car to make it a consistant 10 second runner?

Thanks in advance

Bigger/wider tires + wheels to handle them = more unsprung weight.

If anything, you want to go smaller with a softer compound; drag radials and such; in order to get to 10s.

Check out the 900hp beefcake special. Comes with everything to run low 10s or high 9s. On slicks or drag radials.

Thanks, it looks like a whipple stage 2 kit is the best option for what I want, so I'll look into that

With magride suspension can I update the base GT shocks etc to something that competes with the ZL1?

No need to buy a performance car, if all you are looking to do is hobby craft a 10s car. Might as well just buy a 10 year old Mustang and slap a turbo on it and have a 9s hobby car. Why ruin a brand new car, for a 10s thrill..?

I agree as you don't daily drive a 10 sec. car. That is why I build R/T ponies. Suspension 1st. Go parts 2nd.

Maybe you don’t daily drive a 10 second car. I’m doing just fine with mine.

Exactly, I'm looking at a monster DD for a cheapish price here vs the more expensive ZL1

Would I be missing out much by not getting PP for magneride and installing the Ford track Pack instead? That, the stage 2 and 305s seem to be all I'd need on a base GT A10 (with the speakers/drive mode option as well)
