Hi all,

Does anyone know if the GT PP2 Magride Coil Spring and the GT350 Magride Coil Spring are the same?

I'm looking to install the OEM coil springs on my 2018 GT w/ Magride since my chassis often scratches with Ford Performance Lower Springs.
I'm having trouble finding a used set off the PP2 w/ magride, but I found many GT350 stock coil springs.
Are they the same?

Thanks!

Hi,

I believe these rates are correct :

Compared to what you have :

I just realized I have a typo; I have PP1 with MR instead of PP2. I'm not sure if that makes any difference.

Do the weights stand for front and rear capacity? Do you think installing stock GT350 coils would be ok?

Thanks

Here are the values comparing to the PP1 :

Note that I have found conflicting values for the PP1, hence the bold red text.

Also note that if you go too stiff without addressing the MR shocks / MR programming, you might not be doing yourself any favours ...

With regards to springs rates, it's very personal / application dependant (note the last paragraph) :

Hi WD, thank you very much for sending this to me. I'm a new Mustang GT owner, and I'm still learning.

What does the weight stand for? The heavier the weight, the stiffer ride?

I'm by no means an expert at this ...

lbs to compress it 1" :like:

Note that its not directly comparable to your car weight though, as spring compression isn't always a 1 to 1 ratio to wheel motion due to suspension design / geometry. I've seen the Mustang ratio's mentioned on here before, but I didn't take note of them ...

In simplistic terms and for any given suspension geometry, a higher number is a stiffer spring.

But then you can get springs that increase rate as they compress. For example the spring set I thought you had i.e. :

Well the rears get stiffer as they compress :

I couldn't honestly say what would be good for you / for your expectations / for your roads / your usage etc.

Cool, I'm trying to switch back to stock coil springs for two reasons:

1. It's a bit too stiff for daily driving(having the FP version right now), and I'm looking for a more comfortable ride.

2. The car is a bit too low, wanting a bit higher.

And you know what, I want the springs you want rid of (with the matching sway bars and VDM programming), for the exact reasons that you want to get rid of them ... lol
