I’m looking to pick up a used Mustang. Somewhat driven by budget. Ideally I would like a special car like a GT350, or Bullitt…. Something numbered.
Mach’s still seem to be a little high.
Anyway I found a GT350 locally on market place.
2016 with 58k miles Corsa extreme exhaust. Very well maintained, No oil consumption.
since this is the “gen 1” voodoo I’m worried about reliability. I don’t want to get stuck with a paper weight. I’ve seen all the buyers guides and YouTube videos but I really want to hear from actual owners. Is this something I should jump on or keep looking.

thanks in advance

I wouldn't buy a GT350 with 58,000 miles. Especially if it has been modified.

Keep looking
well sure, but;

A) that’s not what he asked

and

B) your acceptance level is higher than the average yahoo…jus sayin 😉

Cant speak for others, but if it’s got 58k I think she has passed the “warning track”. I have 63k on mine, and loving every minute 🏎

I can see both sides of that argument. Because I’m uneducated so it seems like a gamble. It’s not like there is a powertrain warranty still.
You both make valid points

agreed…and although I bought mine with the risk known and accepted (I have a full shop with two lifts and an awd dyno in my backyard) I would still do it if the price was right. Seems to me, most of these fails that we have all seen and/or heard about, happen WELL before 58k.

may we ask what the asking price is? That will give a better idea 😉

Hmmmm thats a tough call, there are two others on eBay right now, in that range with less miles…

a 16 with 32k for 44
an 18 with 48k for 48

…is the seller sticking to that price?

Not sure if that price is firm or not.

Anything I should ask the seller?

so far I have:
You bought it new? How have you not had any oil issues? Do you do anything special as far as warming up or oil changes anything like that?

Um, I think he did ask. If this was any 'ol car, I wouldn't have said what I said. However, the car has been modified and probably driven hard. 58K on a humming bird? Eh, I would keep looking

I'd pass based solely on the Corsa exhaust. Have you heard the car? Taken it on a test drive? If yes and you liked it then ignore me

I agree with Tom. I'll add I wouldn't bargain shop a 350 regardless though. That said and I was bargain shopping I'd be looking for a wrecked unit to put back to original. That's the only bargain direction I'd go, but fully understand most don't have that ability. If low 40's is where you need to be financially I'd save up a little more and buy a better unit. These cars you very much get what you pay for. It is what it is. Not saying that car is bad, but for me the full exhaust makes me think ricky racer on the street. It probably has a tune as well. These cars simply don't need that mod in my opinion and the benefit is negligible at best. Now fi is a whole other story. Mach 1's are great cars as well. Unfortunately bargains of any kind in this class of car gets some pretty suspect examples.

IMO, the GT350 cars need maintenance. And if you aren't going to run it hard, I'd search for a Bullit personally. The 5.0 is robust, powerful, and those cars just look mean.

That Corsa exhaust, you will hate it after the first week. Plus who knows what else has been fiddled with.

That said, with a proper exhaust, there simply isn't a better exhaust note than the Voodoo in your price range. I put it up there with the 458 IMO.

I'll admit, my standards are pretty high though. So.

idk the exhaust doesn’t sound bad but it is only idling.

Anything I should ask the seller?

so far I have:
You bought it new? How have you not had any oil issues? Do you do anything special as far as warming up or oil changes anything like that?
I would add these questions:

Is there a transferrable extended warranty?
Stock clutch?
Ever replaced rotors?

Common Issues:
1. Rear bumper sagging due to poor clip design
2. 2k piston rattle which as far as I know is not harmful to the motor and Ford claims it is normal on some cars but it might annoy you
