A boss 429 with aluminum heads weighs 690 pounds. That doesn't include alternator, VCT stuff,water pump, other pulleys, AC compressor, fluids, etc. Install weight of the Godzilla will easily eclipse 700 pounds

A boss 429 doesn't have a plastic intake, aluminum roller rockers, lightweight pistons and rods. The 429 also had a carb and a distributor and offered no weight reduction anywhere. The heads were huge, the valve covers were huge. The Boss 429 is physically larger than the coyote. The 7.3L godzilla engine is smaller in every dimension except length. There is no reason for it to be a pig.

No problem, professor Millhouse and Fatguy are going to drop that 700 pound motor home engine and transmission into a stock V6 Mustang without upgrading the brakes or suspension because 700 pounds really means 540 pounds.

Ford hasn't actually published the engine specs so it's what hasn't been published that is really important.

Aluminum heads & intake manifold, aluminum P/S brackets, aluminum water pump & housing, etc. So yeah no weight savings at all.

I keep telling you guys you have to keep the past in the past. Carbs, points and crappy thin tires. Then you want to compare it to a modern car. How about a modern big block to Ecoboost comparison. Taking the past and trying to make it play in the present only comes across as something wrong and sick.

I was being a bit facetious, however the average iron 454 weighs about 700 pounds. So fully dressed it wouldn't surprise me if it gets close to 800lbs. The Coyote is about 440lbs in comparison. Pushrod motors do save a bit of
weight in the cylinder heads vs. their OHC counterparts, but still, that iron pig is gonna be porky.

The motor will weigh in around just over 500lbs.
Remember, only a 4.6 inch bore spacing.
Alloy heads.
Composite ABS intake.
Modern light weighted thin wall block.
A production bbc does not have any of those features.....thanks for the laugh.
