Looks like the glory days are over.

I'm sure after a year of ownership We Buy Any Car were still offering 30k for my GT.

Today, after 16 months it is £24800!!

Basic a valuation on what WBAC would offer is like basing how much you love your car on what the queen thinks of it (useless)

Still, that being said, I did a WBAC on my EB - 22785

£22,390 for mine, just did one out of interest. 2 months ago, Ford said a trade in value would be £25,500.

Optimistic little bastard that I am, I'm quietly confident I can get £28k for it.

Mine will go up for sale from next month, in theory I should have at least 4 months before GT arrives so not in a rush which will work to my advantage.

rumours span up yesterday of a GT selling for 28k, but, sounded more like a "friend" bidded it up to get it higher, guy claimed buyer pulled out (lol). Mind you it was missold as custom pack... and wasn't a custom pack.

Are they selling though?

Mine has been for sale for 6 weeks now and only a trader offered 30k at the beginning.

He's now seeing the car and may offer 29k.

I've come to the conclusion that if I get that, it's still not bad after owning a fantastic car for 15 months.

Does it have any options? Was it a custom pack?

Like most things, it's worth what someone is willing to pay. At nearly-new money, they aren't all that attractive if you're willing to wait, and there is a new model coming (for those in the know). I'd expect the buying public would assume the 20% loss as with any other car, I think, which is around the £30k mark.

Assuming it was circa £36k new including 1st year road tax, if you get £29-30k after 15 months that's not too bad. Selling within the first 3 years is always going to be expensive from a deprecation point of view.

Ouch.

Luckily mine was a few pounds over 34k as a first adopter so to speak. I had every intention
of keeping yet as I have with my BMW bought back in 1998 but had no inkling that my work would take such a drastic dive.

Not just the car that has to go but my nice life in a rented cottage in Surrey has to go too.

Don't forget, the VAT on the original price would have been £5k ish..... you never get that back:)
