I've been noticing that under engine braking, manual transmission, car in gear no throttle, I get a vibration right at around 2500 rpm. below 2000 its gone and above 2800 it's gone. It happens in every gear, but gets more noticeable in the higher gears.

I took it in to the dealer because it had gotten to the point that I could get it to do it every time, but between the roads being crappy and that they had me try to show them during rush hour they couldn't replicate the problem.

it's not so bad that I can't live with it, I just want to get ahead of it if I can expect it to get worse. the fact that it's rpm specific and not really speed specific tells me its something between the engine and transmission, or possibly some huge resonance with the stock exhaust that just happened to show itself after a year. maybe the dual mass flywheel?

anyone else had a similar issue?

Did you try slowly revving the engine while stationary and in neutral from idle up past 2500 RPM to see if it's noticeable?

yea, I did. I only seem to notice it while in gear and engine braking.

Dealer decided to replace the drive shaft. No effect on the problem. I didn't expect it to, since the vibration seems to follow engine speed and not road speed, which is my first step to diagnosing a noise or vibration. I think they were just hoping for the best since the drive shaft is a much easier job than a flywheel.

Probably warped pressure plate or clutch chatter if it's going with engine speed...

There is a bracket that holds the exhaust next to the transmission, the screws/clips that hold it in are terrible, when u hit that rpm it vibrates causing that mechanical type sound. I had the same issue on mine and since I had a aftermarket exhaust I had to personally customize it so stop the rattling

I thought it was something serious for months, before I finally put my car up on a lift and had my buddy listen for it, once I fixed the xhaust bracket it is gone now@

Same deal for me. 3500 RPM, clutch in, clutch out, 10 MPH or 80. It is not bad just annoying. It is like a slight drone. 3400 gone..........3600 gone.

Dan, any further updates on your vibration? My 2016 EB started having a vibration at about 10K miles at the exact same RPMs on deceleration only.
