This has slowly started to become a regular occurrence lately running an iPod off of my USB's in my car. Has this happened to anyone else and any tips to fix this?

There's a reset for Sync/Sync3 that might help, but you might also want to confirm your cable. Assuming you're talking an old school iPod using a 30-pin cable, it might be well worn and have a small short.

I put all my tunes on a usb drive and gave up on my iPod. Do you mean that sync does not acknowledge that a device is connected to usb 1 or 2?

Hi Ultimateone,

I agree with MaskedRacerX about trying a new cable. Often times that's the issue when it's intermittently responding. Have you tried anything else in the USB ports? If not, you can try to rule out the ports by testing a flash drive or another device. Give those a try and let me know how it goes!
