Got a letter from Ford yesterday, offering to sell me updated maps for my nav system, for the Ford-friendly fee of $149. Question is, is that worth it? After only one year?

Not sure about Ford but my wife has the Nissan Rogue and they offered a 1 time complimentary update so its worth s try before paying. I plan to ask for this update as well soon.

Yeah I was told 4-5 years of updates included. Hope that's right.

Not a part of the package, but you can find the updates far cheaper on eBay or elsewhere.

Did you get anything in writing on this? I am pretty sure I did not.

I looked on Ford website and it said that for the 2015 Mustang the maps are up to date. But if you look at the 2015 Fusion they have a map update available with the version A7. Version A5 came with my car. Whats up with that?

Version A7 (SD card) is the current version. Every year around Jan 1 then release an update, next one will be A8. This is for MFT units (2015). 2016 models have SYNC3 and do not use SD card mapping. It is built into the unit. They have yet to release a map update for SYNC3 and it hasn't been officially release if there will be a cost involved for updates.

If you want an A7 and don't want to pay an arm and leg send me message.

Can someone verify that this is true? I know this one intersection in San Jose, CA. it's definitely wrong. It's not a new intersection either. The overpass has been there.

Nothing in writing. Heard it from two people. Salesman and finance guy. Of course they also told me other things that turned out not to be correct. I guess I'll wait and see.
