Hey guys.
Gonna pick up my ecoboost next week and I want to put a turbo back exhaust at a tuning shop. A friend of mine warned me that removing the cat might cause CEL.
Usually an ECU software solves the CEL, but I don't want to put one now.
Do any of you have had this problem? Should I go catback first and then update to turbo?

Kind regards.

It will cause a CEL if you use a catless down pipe, unless you get a tune that turns off the down stream O2 sensor.

If you get a MAP downpipe, they engineered it to place the O2 sensor where it would not trip a CEL.

Thank you very much for the help.
I want to wait for a specific tuner.
Guess I can go catback for a few months and then turn it into turbo back.

Thx again for the help.
Regards.

You can also buy some spark plug non foulers from any local parts store and don't have to worry about cel and it's very cheap no more than 5$. Or at least it worked on my g35 back in the day.

Yep, I can vouch for that working as well.
