I will be getting my o/r Kooks LT's any day now and hopefully installing them sooner than later.

My question is should I do a Dyno Tune or get a tune from Lund or Bama?

I only know of one place to dyno tune my car in Iowa unless someone can point me in the right direction?

Thank You!

The upside to a hand held tuner is most tuners will give you tunes for life. So as mods pile on. It don't cost you to retune.

A dyno tune isn't necessary for a bolt on car. Go with Lund if your only choices are them and Bama.

Does anyone have anything else to recommend? The dyno shop was going to cost $500 and I see Lund N gauge is $549 or so correct? Can I get a lund tune that I can plug in run the program and remove it? I really don't want the gauge in my window or in one of my vents with mine having the PP gauges in the center.

Thanks!

I agree and no, you do not need to get the NGauge. It's available for anyone using HPTuners but I don't know anyone who has seen a ton of value in it as tuners, it's more for the end user so they can look at something....if you don't see the value in that then don't blow the dough.

I haven't done a tune before but I think a lot of S/C get installed with DIY Lund (or similar) tunes, no dyno. So I really doubt you need dyno for headers, unless it's just for fun. Lund N Gauge gets mentioned a lot around here. I would probably leave the gauge connected and datalog to make sure that the engine is running clean, and stays that way.

Thank You!

this guy stuck the ngauge to the windshield. That might impact visibility. You could mount it higher near the rear view mirror. I would probably just set it in a cup holder, or even on the floor, depending on whether the wire is a hassle.

Calling out OKC #1 spot after axle back install.
AED if you have manual, he is not yet doing auto.
My 15 has a dyno tune, I will be picking up an AED tune when he starts tuning autos.
I also don't like the idea of being locked down to only one tuner with the ngauge.

Kooks here with Ngauge and in Iowa. Two dynos in the area...I have been on both of them. Hit me up with a PM and we can chat or if you would like to see the Ngauge in action .

You don't have to leave your ngauge up all of the time. Also, I wouldn't let anyone tune my car except Lund.

You can mount the Ngauge inside the center arm rest. Outta sight.
