I'm going to run a 19x10 +45 square setup with 255/40-19's on the front.

What is the WIDEST 3xx series tire I can run on the rear that will give me a little more sidewall height than the 255 on the front so that the rear doesn't look stupid with a smaller sidewall height??

Thanks!

Are you going for a stretched look? Why 255 on the front? Just curious.

I thought square setup implied that the tires front to rear also were the same size, and not staggered.

305/35/19 is slightly taller than a 255/40/19. Any available 19" tire that I've seen wider than a 305 will be shorter.

I meant 19x10 square rims. I don't like all the tires being the same size.

Sorry if I used the term wrong but the explanation was quite understandable IMO.

Thanks Grimace. I was doing some research yesterday and somewhat came to the same conclusion. Just seeking more opinions since there are far more knowledgable wheel guys here.

Unless you like the stretched look I would go with 275 up front. I just had the OEM tires mounted on 19x10 wheels and I do not like the way the 255's look.

Do you have a pic you would share with me so I can see how stretched it is? I don't care for the stretched look either. LOL

Yeah, you'll have to play the stretch game too, as you'll have to factor that into your expectations of looks to purchase the rear tire that "looks" the same but is actually pinched on the rear. 10" wide can fit a 3XX but it certainly is past the ideal range.

275 or 285 in a 35 series up front and run a 305/35 out back. It will look great.

255 is gonna stretch and 305 is gonna bulge.
I suggest running different wheels front and back or just pick a middle width like 275-285 if you want to run square.

Doesn't matter, tires will dry rot before the little tits are worn off the tread.

D, do not put a 255 on a 10, you will hate it. 275-285 is usually pretty square on a ten inch, depending on the tire (remember, the numbers are not all equal, you have to compare measuring wheels)

I say do a 275 up front and a 305 out back, that'll make you happiest.
