I see no phoniness in the photos. Maybe these guys do care - and maybe they really like their jobs, take pride in their work and have a positive attitude - unlike some of the people who post here. :tsk:

And unlike the people I work with.

I am sure these guys care a lot.

The article mentioned sharing basic architecture with the Coyote. Is there anything actually shared between the two engines, or are they just "like" designs? (with the obvious exception of the FPC)

The entire Voodoo engine is based off a Coyote. Put them side to side and you would not easily be able to tell the difference.

would the V crank fit in a C block?

and extra .2 of displacement, it's either a bore differential or a deck height difference.

mostly bore - thanks to the spray bore liners. IIRC there might be a little stroke difference as well.

Are these the same guys that will be building the GT (supercar, not Mustang) motor?

I wonder how much the service will be when it comes time to change the timing chain? I can't recall exactly, but the book gave two time ranges for change. 1 for regular driving and a sooner date if you track the car.

Does the 6G Coyote have the same bottom end as the Voodoo?
The bottom end includes the crank, rods, and pistons. None of those are shared.

I'm sure the crank would physically fit, but there was a lot of work getting the FPC to run smoothly so I don't expect you could just swap them.

The extra displacement came from the spray bore going from 92.2mm to 94mm.

Why would you need to replace the timing chain? It's not a timing belt. Unless the chain gets stretched from damage or defect it should last the life of the car.

This statement is straight out of the owners supplement.

Timing Chain
If you use your vehicle extensively at a race
track or at high rpm, it is possible to exceed
the service life of the engine timing chain.
A wrench indicator light will illuminate
when it is time for you to replace your
chain. See an authorized dealer

Any one know if the oil pump has billet gears?

I scored a GT350 oil pan /oil pump and was planning to use it for a short block build if it has the gears.
The pan is plastic ,lighter than coyote one and has a pick up tube for the oil pump .

I should have been more specific with my question but was wondering about the four bolt mains and whether it's a cross bolt design.
