I hate Jalopnik articles like that..

"10 cars that we can do anything with because we don't care about warranty concerns to keep up with a full warranty and completely balanced vehicle!"

By their logic...you could buy a 2002 Mustang GT (the old 4.6 2V PI motor) for $6,500.

Pull the motor and put in a billet, heavily built motor for tons of boost ($14,000), put on a twin turbo kit ($8,000), 3 speed auto for "dat boost bruh" ($3,000) and a 9" ($4,000)

throw in some tuning, install..and you'll be at about $45,000 and be in the mid 9's......killing Hellcats all day long

Of course it'll be unreliable, no warranty, a complete handful on the street and a huge fuel hog on race fuel...but it'll kill hellcats.

One of the 10 is a bike & not a car - idiots !!

Just try to get a 2010 GTR that has not been beat HARD for under $60K.

S65 class Merc is NOTORIOUS for being a maintenance nightmare. Not sure why they overlooked the CLS AMG63 4matic ($110K new) but can be had for < $60k used & low miles. Far more reliable & will kill most Hellcats unless the cat driver is very good.

In the end, someone else is always faster than you ;)

I've killed my buddies Hellcat more than half a dozen times already. $32k, under $10k for the blower. Money well spent.
