this has probably already been asked before, but is there a way to mod the base GT have its tachometer flash / turn red when approaching the red-line? I think Premium does this. Ideally it would be programmable, so I could set to 4000 while my car is still new. And maybe 5000-6000 after that.

this is even better:

http://www.edmunds.com/mercedes-ben...z-sls-amg-roadster-operating-temperature.html

This is neat. The instrument cluster in our long-term 2013 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Roadster has a readout that displays gearbox, engine oil and coolant temperatures. That's nothing unusual, but this is: when any one of those temperatures is below normal operating conditions, the digits flash. Independently. It's a simple way to remind you that, hey, dummy, it's still too soon to start beating on the car.

My s2000 had a rev limit programmed in when it was cold, get half way to the 9150rpm redline and it would just cut.
