12,300 street miles on Michelin PSS - and a half track day 10 months ago (where I barely pushed it) - fronts have plenty of tread / rears have significantly less.

Tire shop said rears are close to needing to be replaced - 2 day track event coming up.

Should I replace the rears with Michelin PSS? 800 bucks shipped for the rears from Tire Rack

Wanted to try a full set of Toyo R888 but they said it only comes up with Michelin PSS for a fit.

Any last minute suggestions?

Replace them but check with Ford Racing School for pricing. They had them in stock and were cheaper than Tire Rack.

MPSS is hard to beat for the type of driving you're doing. Replace the rears and buy on discount from Ford Racing School.

Just can't get enuff!
Or if you decide to go with other brands (some with stickier compounds), you could do a full square setup.... like 305/30-19 on the stock rims. It'll be fine.

Search for 295/30/19 and 305/30/19 if you want the toyo. Or you can do 305/30/19 all around. There will be way more options

Good call - just got off the phone with Ford Racing, they can beat Tire Rack ($345 per 305 rear tire) vs. $392 at Tire Rack. Shipping is more expensive however so I went with Tire Rack on the rear set delivered in 1-2 days total $854

Figure i'll kill what's left of the stock front tires with these 2 track days and maybe some street miles after.

Also Ford Racing mentioned they can do brakes for cheap too - good to know. Very helpful on the phone too - thanks all.

Tempted to switch now! Damn..might call them back

Well for 800 bucks i'll go with the stock rear set and just eat up what's left of the fronts. Probably will be making that front tire switch in less than 3,000 miles. The Toyo 305's aren't cheap come in about the same price as the full stock set of Michelin PSS. Thanks again Gents - good to know there are more options.

R888 305/30-19 front, 325/30-19 rear would work on the factory wheels. Do NOT run R888's and Super Sports together though.

ALOT of us bought the contiforcecontact because tirerack had them on closeout for less than $800 shipped. They don't have them listed online anymore, but if you call them you can see what they say. A set of 4 for less than $800 is a steal

IMO a 325 on a 11" wheel is pushing it. Not sure I would even run a 315 on a 11" wheel. Keep in mind the 350R has 11.5" rears for the 315s.

The Track Attack cars run the MPSS for a few reasons. For a "street" tire they grip like hell, their longevity is pretty damn good, and they're good in the wet. Since you are not a regular track guy I think your best bet is to stick with these and enjoy them on the street too.

I have a lot of experience on different tires on the track; from various street tires to hybridish street/track tires to R-comps to slicks. I had not used the MPSS on track until I got this car, and I was floored by the level of grip they provide for the type of tire they are. Do they perform like Cup2s.....hell no. But they are not too far off from the R888 in their grip level and they are quite a bit more street friendly.

When you get real serious about the track, get some track wheels shod with Cup2s. That brings the fun factor to another level, and you can still drive to and from the track without concern. :headbang::cheers:

Agree about the 325s on 11s, and another thing to consider is a rear that wide overpowering the narrower fronts and causing unwanted understeer. Squared sizing will allow the car to be more neutral. That said, my car is very neutral on Cup2s with the 305/315 setup, but I would not go any wider on the rear in an effort to keep the balance.

Yes i've cut way down on track events now doing about 2 events per year. I use to do a lot more in my Boss 302 Laguna Seca (22 events total over the 3 years) and would drive from and to the track with the stock Pirelli Corsa R compounds - those were awesome - amazing grip after a few laps. Not sure how good these Michelin PSS will be compared to those, but I love them on the street, should be plenty of tire for me.

Any recommendations on the tire pressure for the PSS?
