We had a ton of rain recently, and I got stuck driving in some of it. The other day I noticed a slight squealing/squeaking noise while driving. It doesn't seem to be RPM dependent, but I notice it when I left off the gas.

I'm thinking it may just be the belt from getting wet? If so, would I have to tighten the tensioner?

I like to disassemble things.
Tensioner has no adjustment. I'd drive it for a bit as it should go away if it was from excess moisture.

Still seems to be intermittent even after driving it a bit. I can't figure out if it's a belt or something else. Just letting the car idle and listening around the engine, I don't hear anything. Even having someone bump the throttle while listening, I don't hear anything.

Could it possibly be a noisy endlink? Or maybe something with the AC condensation drain hose? I really have no clue.

Your belts should not be getting wet. I have gone through death rain and opened the hood and my belts were not wet.

Yeah I don't think it's the belts. It's not consistent or rpm dependent.

The gapping hole in the hood does worry me about rain and washing.

What water that foes make it in ends up on top of the radiator. Much less than some other cars I've owned with vented hoods.

Yep. Not completely broken but enough to where it caused a noise. Still need to get it welded.
