I've read a lot over the years of surfing various forums of people lending their cars to companies, vendors, etc. and letting the test their product(s) on the car and getting to keep them in return for the lending of the car. I was just wondering how people go about getting this done?? I would love to be someones test mule!! If anyone can fill me in and drop some knowledge on me about this it would be greatly appreciated!!!!! Thanks!

We did something like this with MRT for the 2015 Motorcity Gumball Rally. We ran the rally for charity and MRT helped sponsor a good cause.

Team MF Motorsports has donated over $10,000 to charities in past events and had a good relationship with MRT prior to our proposal. MRT took tons of photos at the opening day of the rally and used the car for the Woodward Dream Cruise, Mustang Memories and their open house. Did anybody here see it?

The rally was from Detroit -> Pittsburgh -> Washington DC -> New York and people everywhere loved our GT! Maybe the most photographed car!

MRT installed:

Cat-Back w/ Drone Management System

No Drill Hood Struts

Adjustable Front Splitter

MRT Rear Window Louvers (We were the first car to get these aside from their test cars! They look awesome!!!)

And their 1" lowering kit that I can't find on their homepage.

I can't speak highly enough for the quality of these parts and the wonderful assistance that MRT offered us. Oh! And that exhaust! Best sounding GT I've ever heard!

By the way, we came in third place out of 70 teams!

It's not a wrap, actually...
We plasti dipped the whole car and a graffiti artist from Heavenly Angels in Detroit used real spray paint to paint the flag!

If it were a wrap, we probably would leave it on longer...

I used to work in the car industry and here is my feedback and honest opinion.

Knowing people in the industry helps a lot but its not the only way to get sponsored. Companies want to see their products well represented and a lot of times its more than just attending your local meet and slapping a sticker on your car. Depending on what the part is some of them want guaranteed exposure: Magazines, High profile car shows, videos, etc.

Best advice if you are serious about doing something like this is to start putting work into your car and have it stand out from the pack (Sponsors love vehicles that are unique and attract attention on their own) Put your self in the place of a company looking for sponsor vehicles, would you prefer to have cars that are unique or stock? When you're ready, make sure you draft up a professional email. You have no idea how many emails we got daily that went along the lines of, "Do you guys have any sponsorships available? Thanks." The people that got chosen usually had very professionally written emails, almost like a resume applying for a job.

Best of luck to you!
