Is there a way to shut off the tri-bar front lights? When i am working on the car or just sitting in the car with the radio playing but the engine not running the tri-bar lights stay on. Any way to shut them off?

You'll want to check out the Daytime Running Lights thread. Short answer is no.

Unfortunately for those of us in certain export markets, the tri bar lights will never be on!

Have you tried just pressing the power button on the radio. you can turn on the radio on my parents F150 at any time by pressing the power button for the radio, no key necessary.

Um, what? This has nothing to do with the OP. He's asking about the "gills" in the headlights, not the radio.

It's completely relevant since he's asking if he can turn them off while working on his car or listening to the radio, I've noticed that with the e-brake up the lights stay off as well as pressing the start button without the clutch but I'll have to double check all of that.

I think you are correct with the start button and no clutch. This according to the manual sounds like the ACC position with a key. He could also just push the radio power button as you said, but it has a time limit of about 10 min I believe.

Yea i know about hitting the start button so i can use the accessories. I installed a GT upper and lower grilles and was listening to the radio but after so much time and multiple times of hitting the start button the car shut off and gave me a message it was conserving the battery before getting too low. I just wish there was a way to shut off the lights as to not draw more power from the battery. I also would like to just have the car accessories on without the lights on. Seems simple enough but i guess not.

I'm searching and can't find the DLR thread. Surely by now
one of you has hacked this now and can tell us how to turn off the gill lights when we're just parked and don't want them on.

probably because you're looking for 'DRL' not 'DLR'.

You can't turn them off without disconnecting.

Because... in new times... DRLs are becoming more like a norm.... There is no stringent law... as of now... but yes companies are encouraged to put DRLs in cars... look at any model .. all have DRLS now
