The reason why it can take 3 to 5 weeks from build date to dealer is..... According to Ford in Dearborn Michigan during the recession the shipping companies had consolidated. This has caused a shortage of car shippers for the car companies today. Asked why GM can get the corvette shipped in one week ...the reply was that's Fords goal. This helps in understanding the delays. It's not quality issues or stripes. It's just a shortage of shippers. :headbang:
I can handle the truth. Maybe a rare occasion it might be quality.

I don't think that is true.
While i was waiting for my car just like everybody here, I used some VIN from my dealer to play around with cotus at
http://www.cotus.ford.com/

plug in some random vin from any dealer stock, and you will see the time frame.
for my dealer vin 1FATP8FF3F5432201 2015 mustang from Production to Delivery is 4 days....

  • In Production 07.17.15

  • Awaiting Shipment 07.17.15

  • In transit 07.21.15

  • Delivered 07.21.15
and that is a 2015 mustang gt, which is on the same line as a gt350

So the car was produced on Friday and over the weekend it was delivered on Tuesday. This must have been on Santa's sled " Christmas in July " .....hey believe what you want this was a statement from a Ford executive explaining the delays in shipping.

nothing personal, but I just don't buy it. Tried a few other VINs too from my dealer, all delivered within 2 weeks from the day it was produced. average i say is about 8-10 days.

but maybe the exec was referring to rail way transport, at least for convoy transport if it is more than 2 weeks you know it is not delayed by the truck company.

Execs are much like politicians. Don't expect a straight answer.

He was talking about the Shipping companies which handle the cars being shipped outside the 250 mile radius of the plant. Not your local small shipping companies. Hey like I said I'm done trying to explain what some of us have experienced . If you don't want to believe it fine. I'm just waiting for my car.
The so called cutos doesn't work for my car and from what I've read on other Shelby's either.
Here's real time shipping
Built ....11/11
In yard. 12/1 not released

Well I talked to Michael Kross today which is the ford executive in Dearborn Michigan and he told me the exact same thing. 5.0 435 is correct. Michael Kross contacted my area manager that is ahead of shipping and he is the only person so far that I have delt with that I feel has been honest and straight forward. He told me tha ups is in charge of dispatching the shipment and that my car would be put on the list as of today. He also stated that their is no reason why it was built on 10-21-15 and sitting for 6 weeks. My car was not effected by any quality issues according to him. He told me that he knows exactly where
MY car is and that he will make sure it will be loaded and shipped out on tomorrow's delivery. So time will tell. But at least he and Mr Kross are the only 2 that have called and made this happen. Nobody else have given any info until they did today.

Here is a real-live, current example of my GT 350's 900-mile trip.

Built: 11/13
Released for Shipping: 11/17
Departed FRAP: Unknown
Halfway on Rail Car: 11/24
At Trucking Company: 11/29
Due at Dealer: 11/30-12/4

The only thing slowing the last 200 miles to the dealer now is an ice and snow storm.

With the last 8 numbers of your VIN, call Ford Performance at 800-367-3788. Hit 1 when the system answers, and you'll be connected to one of several folks who can check their computer screens for the latest updates on your car. Some dealers also have access to this information, particularly once the car reaches the trucking company for the last leg of the trip. Keep in mind that all dates are subject to change; all of the dates I showed above varied by up to a week either way and kept changing until the actual event happened. Fortunately, my car didn't have any production holds, but my VIN did drop off the list for a couple of weeks between the time I was given the build week and actual production.

Ok, that's what I figured. FP is telling me I'm still not released for shipping, so I'll keep checking back with them. Thanks.

As of 11/30 mine has been released for shipping. Should be on the train/truck any day now. Thinking I should have it by years' end?

Just can't get enuff!
There are a number of GT350s with vin #'s in the 300-400 range that are still sitting at FRAP awaiting release.... IIRC all were produced back in the week of Oct. 19th and week of Oct. 26th
