The problem would be determining if the canbus system is the same on both models. If not the switches won’t work. Also, the airbag module may not be compatible with the BCM. The 15-17 models have a different airbag than the 18-23 models.

Airbag looks totally different. Agree with Brian regarding the switches too.

Steeda makes an all leather wheel with a flat bottom that’s a good price. Has the red centering stripe and red stitching. Ford Performance has the GT350R wheel that works as well, that one is alcantara.

It’s definitely a cool wheel though, wish S550 would’ve come with a slightly thicker wheel and a flat bottom. But, that’s what the aftermarket is for I guess

Im happy with mine and is paid off some years ago with 28k miles. But the steering wheel of the s650 i think is the final piece to finish my cockpit.

I think they are the same plugs but the black maybe fits on the blue, maybe was a color change.

I already installed Mach 1 Digital Dash and sync 3 on my 2015 with 18+ buttons.

This guy installed 18+ heated steering wheel in his 2016.

Maybe is possible.

If you’re talking about putting the entire S650 wheel, airbag and controls and everything, I would be surprised if it works. Clock spring is probably different and who knows on the electronics side of it.

The shape of the airbags are different as are the control areas, so I don’t think putting S550 parts on the S650 wheel will work either. Maybe someone has figured it out already but I think you’re better off getting an S550 aftermarket wheel.

Yes I’m talking about the whole steering wheel, airbag and controls.

Yeah, he went through a lot of work to make it happen. What he also had going for him is the S550 ecosystem is basically the same throughout all the years. There’s so much new tech in S650, not sure if anyone here has dug into it yet. You’d probably have to go over to 7G and start asking questions there. But I’d venture to guess that you would have a lot more work cut out than the guy that swapped in the heated steering wheel. Probably more costly too.

Only you can determine if the juice is worth the squeeze, but for me I’d say nope.

You’re comparing apples to oranges. It’s not like you’re doing an exhaust swap. You’re asking for opinions, I’ve given mine. No one has done this that I’ve seen so you can either try it yourself, or forget about it.

Yes I appreciate it, I will wait until someone try it.

I think you’re going to be waiting a while for someone to try it but good luck if you end up attempting it.
