I have the stock 275/40 R19 Michelin 4s tires and I am getting ready to get a new set. Looking to go to 295/35 R20 but am wondering if the stock tires come with rim protection because it’s an option I can select but not sure if I want or need it, Michelin doesn’t put any indications on their tires. By the looks of the stock tire i’m pretty sure they have rim protection.

The image shows about a half inch of extra rubber along the rim

Michelin typically has the rim protection on their tires. Continental does as well. I think most street tires have them these days but there are probably some that don’t.

According to the Michelin website the 4s come with rim protection of some sort as standard. Makes it very confusing that some tire stores offer them with or without protection.
