I know that ECM will limit the revs if the engine is cold. This isn't that.

This happens from time to time, but basically the rev limiter comes in way sooner than the actual red line of 8250 rpm. Cylinder head temp around 200F and oil temp around 180F.

Initially I told myself its revving so quick that I'm probably not seeing it go to red, it just cuts off so quickly, but it happens pretty much all the time.

I will try a standard data logger and see if it is indeed so quick and that I am just not seeing it. Has anyone used Dash command with these cars? I'm asking because in the past I used dash command/kiwi with cars that literally went into limp mode:)

I stand corrected. I just checked the manual and it is 190F not 180F for the 8000 limit. Thanks!

I'm not sure if you are aware of this, there is a shift light option, which flashes lights on the windshield as you approach a driver specified (in 100 RPM increments) shift point. I think I set mine to 8100 RPM. When driving near the redline, I wouldn't bother looking at the tachometer.
