I have a little over 5,000 miles on my GT350 and the front of the rear quarter panel is getting tons of rock chips. I have the JLT Rock blockers which were installed after a few hundred miles. I'm suspecting that rocks are coming through the air vents in the front fender. For those of you with at least a few thousand miles how is the front of your rear quarter panel holding up? I was thinking if some kind of screen solution could be developed to catch debris.

It's just the way the front tire kicks up rocks when you're turning (they're wiiiiide) and that spot tends to catch them. It's a definite MUST for PPF. I learned on the '16 the hard way like this.

Lay a few coats of cquartz... it's tough, might just protect it. I have it all over my car, and I have no rock chips at 4000 miles.

I'm probably going to have some professional paintwork done and then add paint protection film. My friend did the cquartz, but still has a ton of chips on his as well. The front bumper and rear quarters on this car chip so easy.

Just do the paint protection film, for rockers and rear quarter panel should only run you about 300-400.

They sell sections of PPF pre cut for S550 Mustangs. I have many of the pieces on my car. They work very well. The section specifically behind the door on the front of the rear fender is still left a little exposed with their design. I also purchased a set of zl1addons.com rock guards for the front. They have completely stopped the issue altogether.

Could you post a picture of it please?

Thanks!

Are you finding that the rear qtr is picking up more chips compared to the front fascia? Have you gotten any on your hood or front fenders?

I'm probably going to get PPF done soon on my car too, just wondering which parts of the car have been the most susceptible based on your experience. Thx.

Correct the rear quarter has a lot more chips than the front.

I plan to put some sort of clear bra in these spots. Being a Black car I don't want a bunch of White spots everywhere from rocks.
