I have order GT 350 w/ tech, mag with white strips. I am thinking about painting the frame to match the car and strips. Any thoughts?

Did this last night. Purchased a tag frame for a 1966 GT350, sanded it and painted it black with with letters to match my color combo. Crappy cell phone pic, but you get the idea.

I'm still on temp tags, but I just noticed that it seems like you really need a license plate frame on these cars or else the usually sharp bottom edge of the plate will probably scratch the body/stripes. I've never been big on frames, but I think I want to get one just to try and prevent that.

I guess optionally attaching some near the bottom on the back of the plate would do it as well.
