Good MPG

18 MPG pure city. Dense traffic, bumper to bumper.

26 MPG highway.

That sounds very dead-on .
You must be a good driver !

You could nurse that 26 a couple mpgs higher if you massaged it- off the gas when speed limit is reached, etc... and it is kept below 70.

My 6,000 pound 8 speed automatic truck consistantly returns 28 mpg at 45 mph. But at 60 mph, it drops to about 24 mpg. I must run on a level carriageway with a raw egg underneath my right foot.

Mines at 15.6 average right now. I usually reset it every other tank or so though and it doesn't really get driven much at all.

After traveling over the course of 4 days to 3 different places and back home for multiple Christmases, here's what I recorded. Mostly highway with cruise set at 67 or 77 depending on the speed limits.

Backed up with a 24.5 MPG average calculated by hand.

My 3 month average overall is 23.0 MPG (calculated) over 6,000 miles. 97% of my daily driving is hwy, ranging from 55-70 speed limits.

I've got an average of 21 on a 500+ mile trip cruising at about 85, with sprints up to 140; running 100 octane.
Sounds about right for spirited highway driving. That's about what I achieved on a couple of inter-city 350 mile roundtrips, cruising between 85 and 95 (with short bursts to dispel ennui), with 93 octane. The 3.73 means no downshifting from sixth is necessary.

Today's trip. First half was running 80-90, second half had a lot more traffic so speed was usually 70 or so, with some 80-90. Might have hit 100 a few times. All 93 octane except one place only had 92. A/C was on for about 2/3 of the trip.

My old car. 2013 GT M6 with 3.73' procal, lowered, and corsa AB's

My 2015 GT A6 stock with 3.15's

I run 93 octane. Best mpg in my 13 was 28.3 and the best I have gotten in my 15 is 26.5 I think. The mpg meter in the 13 was only off by .4 mpg over verses hand calculated. The 15 is constantly 2 mpg over actual.

Congratulations Dude! You are the first person to use the word "ENNUI" on this Forum...and it's refreshing to hear from an erudite individual from Texas.:hail: Our Ponies can deliver great MPG at speed...we've got a combination "show horse" and a "race horse" that doesn't eat very mush. :clap2:

Your also averaging less than 20MPH so you will be on the low side no matter what you do. Sweet spots for cars are between 45-65MPH, any more or less will severly reduce mileage.
