I've read up many times of members on this forum mentioning that they've wrapped/painted their decklids to match the oem gloss black but I haven't seen one picture of the work they've done. Anyone have any pictures they would like to post to show the outcome of this? That would be great :headbang:

MMD flat black painted gloss black. Cheaper to get the preprinted one, but that wasn't an option when I ordered mine.

How is the painted panel vs the factory panel with fingerprints and attracting dirt and pollen?

That looks great! That color pretty much looks identical to the oem gloss black. You still can't get it prepainted to match that gloss black from AM yet. They have a black but it doesn't match.

honestly, WAY less. That's one reason i wanted a painted one vs the stock plastic. I figured it'd be much tougher and resistant to micro scratches vs bare plastic. I'm honestly surprised on how much less dirt, dust, and fingerprints there are vs stock. It still gets them, but about 60-70% less.

Took the stock decklid and removed the emblem, filled and painted. Did a white for testing and a flat black that I buffed into a satin look.

Was eyeing the shadow black American Muscle pre painted, how do you know it doesn't match? They said it will.

It'll match the car paint if your car is black but it won't be the same black your old decklid cover has.

This is the shadow black picture from americanmuscle. Notice how the trim around the taillights is nice and glossy compared to the decklid cover?

I think the regular black from AM would match just fine. They didn't have my car to paint match, I just dropped off the deck lid and said paint this gloss black please. They used regular ford gloss black and it matches the tails perfect.

So it's shadow black to match the car...and UA to match the tailights?

hmm.... really curious to see what the paint matched decklid along with tail light surrounds would look like, especially on white
