All I have to say is you people who successfully get that bottom bolt into the oil pump have really small hands.

And fuck you! :D:D:D:D:D

Carry on....

It's a PITA but helps to have a magnet and little Burger King hands.

LOL I did mine yesterday and yes putting the oil pickup bolt back on was the hardest. I have short fat fingers so i took a metal hanger and grinded both sides down flat. I made a hook out of it and slid it in between the head of the screw and the attached washer and then made a 90 degree bend. I was able to lower it in the pan pull it up in the hole and put a box wrench on the head and tighten it. This was after an hour of dropping it in the pan and fishing it out with a magnet lol

Magnets, bent 90 degree wrenches, thoughts of suicide all happened.

Even thoughts of red loctite with only one bolt and even tac welding came to mind.

It's on after 4 hours of the bolt alone.

Getting a 4V timed all by yourself is also fun.

anyone has the factory torque bolt specs for the oil pump ?
My manual says:

"Installation

1.*NOTE:*Oil*pump*must*be*held*against*the*cylinder*block*until*all*bolts*are*tightened.

Rotate*the*inner*rotor*of*the*oil*pump*assembly*to*align*the*flats*on*the*crankshaft*and*slip*the*oil pump*over*the*crankshaft*until*seated*against*the*block.

Rotate*the*oil*pump*until*the*bolt*holes*are*aligned*to*the*block*and*install*the*fasteners*hand*tight.

Torque:

Stage*1:**A:***89*lb.in*(10*Nm) **
Stage*2:**B:***18*lb.ft*(25*Nm) **
Stage*3:**C:***89*lb.in*(10*Nm) **
Stage*4:**D:***177*lb.in*(20*Nm) **
Stage*5:**A:***45° **
Stage*6:**B:***75° **
Stage*7:**C:***45° **
Stage*8:**D:***60°"

It shows the fasteners starting off with letter "A" on the very left of the pump and then proceeds to show "B", "C" and lastly "D" denoted in a clockwise fashion. Fastener "D" is opposite of fastener "A".

No gaskets needed. Just some silicon where it is needed. Need a damper removal 3 jaw. The back two lower bolts on both valve covers are a pain in the ass. Obviously the oil pump bolt is a pain.

Whiteout for the timing chains.

I did not need a new bolt as I use the Procharger one that is longer anyways.

I would suggest 10 inches of thread all in the M12 1.50 which is nearly a unicorn and a nut with some pipe to install the damper. Also heat it up with a torch or a nice heat gun.

Leave it to Ford to use the one thread pitch no one commonly has.

also, did you buy just gears, or you buy the whole oil pump assembly?

if you bought just gears, how was the install into the pump? i heard you have to clearance them or something.
