I'm just curious, for you guys/gals that have the PP cars, does it recommend 5W-50 like the previous generation Track pack cars or is it 5W-20? Thanks.

Tighter tolerances need lower visc oil
Better mpg's with lower visc oil
Oils are getting better and better ever fews years or so

I'd still be tempted to go w/ a heavier weight oil for track days/hard usage. Change back to lighter weight for street driving. Just me.

I think the oil cooler that's part of the PP should handle most track days well...anyone know the specs?

The oil cooler would almost have to be a oil to air type cooler instead of the previous Boss 302 and track pack type setup. I don't think there were that many internal differences to the engine compared to the Boss that would allow it to run 5W-20 under track type conditions but who knows. I just find it curious that there is no mention of the heavier viscosity for the PP cars.

An oil cooler is standard on all GT's, not just the PP.

It's an oil/water cooler similar to the previous model Boss/TP models.

Well, since the oil cooler is the same type as before, maybe Ford discovered the cars did not need the 5W-50 for track use.

For someone with a PP GT, what does your oil fill cap say for oil viscosity?
