Occasional lockout *only when downshifting to 2nd*

I have the following installed and it really shifts great, aside from the stated issue:
- Steeda trans mount bushing insert
- Steeda shifter base bushing bracket
- Steeda short throw street shifter (still body mounted)
- Steeda 35 lb clutch spring
- Motul Multi DCTF
- 1.1 lb solid stainless steel shift knob

I get occasional 2nd gear lockout but only when DOWNSHIFTING from 3rd. Typically happens after normal braking to start a turn. Happens maybe 15% of the time. I've tried double clutching and it didn't help. Really weird.

Seems like a 2nd gear synchro issue but it *never* happens when upshifting quickly at full throttle. Sounds like this is when most people get lockout in 2nd or 3rd.

I've searched the forums and haven't found someone with similar symptoms. Any ideas?

You could try blipping the throttle a bit to match revs. Is there anywhere to lubricate your Steeda shifter?

My car is very picky and can be notchy if the clutch is not fully depressed.

This is very good advice. If the OP‘s car is a ‘22, he should have rev match. It’s worth a try to select it in Track Apps and see if that helps improve the situation.

I have used rev match and also blipped the throttle myself but this will still happen occasionally. It just flat won't go into 2nd.

It's now starting to have the classic, high rpm lockout on the 1-2 shift. Searching here tells me a stainless braided clutch line is worth trying first. If that doesn't fix it then a different clutch. I already have the other supporting mods except for a trans-mounted shifter. This seems to be more of a clutch function issue rather than shifter related.

Is it worth draining the Motul Multi-DCTF and trying a different trans fluid? Seems to have gotten worse since I installed the Motul fluid. The thing is, it shifts *exceptionally well* other than this occasional 2nd gear lockout.
