I have searched and can't find the answer. Does anyone have any idea how many GT350 and GT350R's are going to be made for MY17?

lol - they're almost done making the 2016s and nobody knows exactly how many they are making this year. ;)

We don't know but there were articles many months ago about 5000/year of the 350 and 500/year of the 350R...slightly over I'd say
Who knows when production will end. The gt500 could rotate in for 18.

Articles? Best I've heard is "this guy said" or "my dealer told me". Based on history, some opinions and our speculation, the 5000/500 number exists but it's never been official. Jim Owens even mentioned numbers but couldn't confirm - even he isn't pulling the strings on production so what we're left with is a educated guess but we do not know.

With the current dash plaque numbers and 2016 still a couple of months to build. I'd say around the same number many were predicting 5,000 year, will be a little more or less. I wouldnt say thousands, but maybe a few hundred gt350s maybe a few dozen Rs. This is for '16.. for '17, it's anyone's guess. Maybe they will up production by 1 or 2k units. For the last gen gt500 the 13 had around 1000 units less produced than the 14. Same thing could happen for the 350, or something else come up which slows down production.

You could be right. Just have to wait and see! :)

Anyone want to hazard a guess at what point demand will wane? There has to be a point when most if not everyone who has a hard on for this thing, gets satisfied and demand drops off.

That's really hard to say for sure. I mean, certainly less people will be interested as time goes on and people get their cars built and delivered. However, it seems many car fanatics who are not usually into mustangs are very interested in this car. With a broader market, and limited production, availability may remain scarce for a while (or everyone who can afford one will get one and demand will fall off).

Surely when the next hot car comes out, some demand will go away...

My guess is not as many as in 2016. The local dealer's Ford sales rep is bribing him to order another GT350 for which the dealer didn't have an allocation. I think the car is not selling as Ford had planned, do I hear ADM, and that is why there are extra allocations to give to small dealers. That is also why Ford is offering the GT350 for 2017. Since 2017 is the fifty anniversary of the GT500 I would have expected the GT500 to come out in 2017 and the GT350 to have ended in 2016 'allowing' folks to get the GT500.

I would venture to suggest that if you are looking for parallels here, the Boss 302 production is a good guide- a total run of 8,200 automobiles.

I'd unscientifically suggest the demand curve and pricing here will likely be similar for those of us who were in the market for the B2.

I saw some members with 2016's have VIN's in the low 6000's so my guess is 6500 min. for '17 and about 800 R's for '17 (to make up for the lower amount of R's built in '16)

....and who said there was a "lower" amount of R's for '16? They aren't even done making them. All wild-ass-guesses from everyone so far.

Agreed that they are trying to pump out as many R's as possible right now. I think latest VIN's I saw they were in mid to high one hundreds and they could probably build more than double that in a week if all the vendor parts are in place.
Yes, obviously all we could do is guess.

Let's just hope that they make enough for all our good friends to have one....but not so many that we take a huge depreciation hit on them ;)
