Hi there

Just watched the live videos of Late Model Restoration (Facebook) drag racing their MY18 (A10) against their GT 350R.

GT350R ran an 12.64@116mph
MY18 A10 ran an 12.02@117mph

Cars bone stock, stock tyres on both.

Unfortunately they only got three runs but all three runs were consistent low 12's as rain came.

But this is hugely promising, we know MY15's were rocking around 13.0-13.3s stock on the A6 auto at around 107mph.

So the MY18 has cut a second in the quarter mile and its crossing the line 10mph faster, well the A10 is, the manual will probably be high 12's or a 13.

Seems Ford have being very conservative about engine power as early dyno's are showing around 420WHP, which is close to 40-50WHP up on MY15 which is a lot more than the claimed 25HP crank improvement Ford have quoted.

Exciting times and as predicted looks like these MY18's will be mighty quick and with a simple tune can see those terminals going beyond 120mph with just a tune file which is very impressive.

Dyno video, not maximum RPM reached due to vehicle top speed limiter, so there was more on the table.

These are going to go 11s bone stock on factory tyre, very quick. Only beaten by a Golf. :D

They look good for sure.

Can't wait to have an 18' GT roll up against my Paxton 2015 GT on the street... just to give them a reminder they aren't the king of the road hehe :D

But if you stick to speed limit, he is gonna beat you to 60mph as even the supercharged motors struggle to run sub 4s times. ;)

Nope I prefer MY18 as it is compared to that and I have plans to improve on the front-end look as won't need to spend much money on trying to make this one go faster, so I can focus on styling and making it a bit more unique. :)

I want power I can deploy, as great as 800HP is Mac will tell you in these cars its simply a bit too much and spoils them a bit, particular on a country road or when just try to get about in traffic. Yes they are great on a motorway/autobahn.

You only have to look at most of the UK supercharged guys, they struggle to break into 11s quarters on stock tyres as they can't get the car off the line.

The MY18 with headers, K&N panel filter and a tune is going to be going mid 11's all day long on stock tyres, a supercharger would only come into it once approaching three digits and if the other guy is a manual than that A10 will still keep him working very hard.

MY15 was not quick enough, adding a blower makes them fast but also a handful, maybe great on a weekend fun car like Mac's but on a daily car driven every day in all weather, a super charger can get tiring fast when it makes you slower due to wheel spin, I'd rather just have a quick NA car because its got a very good auto and can put it down whilst still looking epic and sounding amazing. If those last two points were not important, I'd just keep the Golf as to be frank on the road it will damn right embarrass pretty much any car due to its traction and gearbox.
