My 15 yr olds son's first pass

I know its not 2015 Mustang related but still really cool to me!
My son made his first pass down the track today. We went to Carolina Dragway to hang out with Charles Potter and after we loaded Charles car up in the trailer I told my son to go jump in line and he could make a pass before we went home. He has a 1999 Mustang GT, auto with 3.55's that I fixed up for his first car. I just told him to leave it in drive and leave on the 3rd light. He didn't set any national records but it was so cool watching him do it! 13.91@95 not bad for a first car at 15.
Thanks for letting me share, I'm proud of him.

Very cool! I got the whole family racing. My wife races her 15 and my daughter runs her 2010 v6. That's a pretty impressive time your son ran.

2 hour and 15 minute ride home, all the way home he was talking to me about changing the converter, shift kit, aluminum driveshaft and even 50-75 shot of nitrous lol, My wife just grinned and said he is definitely your son.

That is really awesome !! That's great that your son is into mustangs not any of these rice Honda junk like these kids got today. My first car was a 1985 mustang gt 5.0 with 5 speed that my dad got for me when I was 14 and my first quarter mile was at 16. My first pass was a 14.8 at 94. Been hooked since. I'm 27 now.

Same here, I was 16 when I started also. My first car was a 65' Fastback Mustang, 302 4-spd with a 3.00 gear, ran 14.90's. I stopped racing or even going to the track to watch back in 2005, wanted to spend as much time with my son as I could. I took him to the track early this year and we have been going to help with my friends race car every since.
Gokart racing is a lot of fun, my son raced two years in purple plate class when he was 8 & 9 years old. I changed jobs and we were not able to do it anymore.
