Hi, I recently replaced my 2015 mustangs battery. I had stock battery till now which was around 7 years old. So I installed the new 96R battery which is same as oem. I did everything properly like disconnecting negative terminal first and the positive when removing old one. Connecting the positive first and then negative for new battery. But since i installed new battery my rear view camera does not work. when I put in reverse I get Black screen. I even checked the fuse for the reverse camera (fuse 66 in engine bay) also Fuse for Radio. I even did the BMS reset but still noting. I also tried unplugging and plugging back the cable to the camera in the deck lid. Dis anyone else experience similar issue or can advice something. Thanks

Did you know about the Ford recall for the rear camera? You may want to call your local dealer and see what they recommend.

Yes, Even I got the letter from ford regarding the recall. I have booked appointment but they want to keep the car for over 1 day and the appointment I got is almost after 2 weeks. Which I will use as last option if I cant fix it by myself

It may be entirely coincidental with the battery replacement, but have you ever checked the harness at the trunk lid where the known problem exists for rear cam failures?

Definitely check your wiring harness wires very closely (from trunk lid all the way back to under the rear parcel shelf) as well as the harness plug that goes into the cam.

Here’s the M6G thread:
https://www.mustang6g.com/forums/th...op-working-heres-the-fix.117245/#post-2462302

Many M6G members have removed the harness from the cam due to deck lid panel replacements AND have repaired the main cam harness and did not have to reprogram or do anything special to restart the cam again (with normal operating results).

Another thread for rear back up cam:

Thread that contains all the NHTSA recall docs for rear back up cam issues (if anyone needs it):

Here’s (2) links regarding Ford backup cams with very detailed information for re-programming and tech (prob more detailed than anything I’ve seen posted here yet). Mind you these are not 100% “Mustang specific”, BUT the same procedures and fixes would apply since Ford uses similar cams and programming of them regardless of vehicle model.

Thankyou so much for the detailed response. I checked the wire harness physically it looks okay no rips or anything. I tested with Forscan tool and got code B115E:08 for the camera module. I will test again with multimeter there might be a short circuit

I would remove the battery cable again for 5 minutes and reinstall. I had similar happen on my 2018 F150 display after changing the battery. The display was dead, backup camera worked though.
Anyway it came back to life. Not the same I know because with you it's the camera but worth a try.
Seems like quite a coincidence that it quit after the battery was changed. Try it, doesn't cost you anything.

i just want to update camera was fixed by ford for free under the recall. The issue was with wiring harness in rear trunk. Ford installed the part number fr3z-14a411-x which is around $20-$25 if in future someone experiences same issue by themselves. Ford kept my car for 2 and half days even I booked appointment and they work on my car less then 1 hour. I have 24*7 dash cam on my car so i saw the footage.
