Ordered Track Package car.

Can someone explain the drive mode selector buttons on the steering wheel?

I assume I will use the '+' and '-' buttons to select the mode (e.g., normal, sport,...). If true, what purpose does the nearby damper button and exhaust button serve? Do these two buttons allow you to further customize those items within the currently selected drive mode?

Thanks.

I believe so. You can be in sport mode for example, and soften the steering and dampers, and quiet the exhaust. Then again, certain modes may lock the settings in on some things. On my 2013 GT, if you put it in sport mode, it locked the steering in sport.

Owner's Manual Supplement:
Exhaust mode is defaulted between Normal or Sport based on the selected Drive mode. The user can override the default setting using the menu option or using the toggle switch on premium models.

There was a comment from a ford rep in a recent void stating that Sport exhaust is also activated automatically when going WOT regardless of the selected drive or exhaust mode.

Good! I'm hoping that's how it's set up.

Thanks for posting. Wouldn't the non-present option be moot rather than mute? Mute doesn't make sense to me. I guess maybe it's a tech writer typo.

I think that's mute for the radio volume.
