Remember all the surprised Nissan GTR owners regarding required maintenance and price? Any worries here about that happening to us too?

Gotta pay to play. But no, not too bad. I would think parts will be more expensive than a GT no doubt not not unmanageable. My biggest pain point will be brake pads and racing tires. Clutch might be a fun pocket burner though.

I expect to pay more than a standard Mustang GT for any work that gets done. But, I don't expect the car to be particularly fragile. As has been said brakes and tires won't be cheap, but since I'm not likely to track my car often, I don't expect that to be a constant expense.

Won't be anything like the GT-R. Will be more than a GT for obvious reason but definitely manageable if you can spend 60k on a car.

Never go near a dealer unless I need warranty work. Learned my lesson already.

Aside from more expensive tires, rotors, and pads, and a few more quarts of oil, maintenance should be no more than a typical Ford vehicle.

Ball joints, rod ends, and bushings may get some more wear and tear on the road courses. You could always slide off the track and brake some stuff.
You might even blow the thing up if you raced it for a season or ran it at red line for a track day event, but that's going to be just a few people who don't give a sh!t about maintenance.

Rotors will be pretty expensive. I'd expect $1000 or more for a set of 4, based on the price of other oem 2-piece (essentially) rotors.

Yep, I'd expect brakes to be the biggest surprise for most people.

OEM, just for parts, looks like $1200 for rotors and another $500 for pads. If you're not a DIY sort of person, probably another $300 for labor.

Granted a lot of people aren't going to replace the pad or rotors with OE, but still I think that's a decent ballpark for equipment of this size.

? I had a GTR(MY09) for 5 years......what surprises? I had just normal maintenance. Pads and rotors, if you tracked it, but nothing unusual.

Just can't get enuff!
GT-R isn't bulletproof especially for those who regularly track it an an advanced level. And it has its known riskier components. Just like any other high performance car, the consumables can get quite expensive. As for the GT350 I agree that the brake system is on the pricier side. Tires too whether MPSS or Cup 2's. These are the items I spend the most on my Z06.

Oil filter is $35 and around $80 of Amsoil. Looking at $120 oil changes if you DIY!

I will never ever trust a dealer to work on this car for a fee. The only trip to Ford will be for warranty work and filters. I have had so many bad experiences with dealership maintenance (ford, chevy, and dodge). The prices they charge are out of this world and they Troubleshoot like idiots! Just my opinion.
