Loud whistling noise after long periods of driving

My car has almost 900 miles on it. Today, while leaving the hospital, I could hear a loud whistling (no it's not turbo whistle, I know what that sounds like. I heard it today in the drive thru. Sounds like it's coming from the driver side.

Anyone have any ideas on what that could be? Or is that normal? Car drives fine btw.

Yeah I noticed it a week ago and didn't think anything of it. But I got to hear it isolated today and it's pretty loud.

Is it only in second gear? Mine is in the shop, as I type this, for a squealing noise between first and second.

Could be the direct injection system. The injectors on the FR-S and BRZ made a cricket/squeaking noise due to it

The cricket noise culprit was ethanol in the fuel, and could be heard plainly with the hood open.

If you can, try getting ethanol free fuel the next time you fill up and see if there is a difference (see http://pure-gas.org/).

Ill try that. Only downside is that the station near me only has 89 ethanol free. I may just put in another tank of 92 and see if i can hear it again.

Just updating. Had the sound again today. It's not loud, but it's a faint squealing noise. Does not get louder or go away with light acceleration. Sound is not apparent on cold start either, seems to creep up after driving it for an extended period.
