So i know the 350 comes with a light weight battery, but the question is it light enough? I've been looking at a light weight lithium battery, in particular the Shorai LFX36L3-BS12.

I use a lithium battery in my KTM bikes with great success, and they're super light. This Shorai weighs 4.8 lbs, compared to about 30 lbs for the Ford battery. 540 CCA compared to 390.

25 LB weight savings for approx $ 270 seems like a good deal to me.

Anyone have any experience running a lithium battery in a car? Or a reason why not to?

Thanks

Peter Brock racing sales a light weight battery. They are in Henderson NV. You can call them to discuss.

less CCA means its not going to be as reliable in starts in certain temps. Lithium batteries hate the cold too

The OEM has 390 CCA, the Shorai has 540 CCA, In my particular application i wont be driving the car when its really cold (Sport Cup 2's)

Is that lithium battery voltage regulated to 12v ? Also lithium charging is much different. Can it charge off the cars alternator ? That is some awesome weight savings.

You can probably ask Gary Savage at Braille for a recommendation.

They do Lithium and lightweight AGM. I think the stock battery is ~31 lbs so even a lightweight AGM would be a significant improvement. Or start jogging.
