6.4Lbs/per gallon for 93 octane multiplied by 16 gallons, 102.4 lbs. Add that to the weight you listed is 3614.4 lbs. that pretty close.Maybe minus full tank. they normally do not travel with a lot of gas.
IIRC information on Fords website lists curb at around 3,730 lbs for Base spec, still over 100 lbs not accounted for. Unless they somehow calculated that weight without any fluids in it, but they don't leave the factory that way.6.4Lbs/per gallon for 93 octane multiplied by 16 gallons, 102.4 lbs. Even with the needle even with the E fuel line, most cars have at least a gallon or two left for emergency purposes. I've never been able to fill up to capacity in any car, since I at least pump when low fuel light is on.Do these cars have 16 gallon tanks? I always assumed 14-15 as I have been pretty low before and it has never held more than 13.8 gallons.
you may be right! when I weigh an aircraft I calculate for consumables like fuels and oils. So that weight may be a dry weight spec but most definitely not how they leave the manufacturer.IIRC information on Fords website lists curb at around 3,730 lbs for Base spec, still over 100 lbs not accounted for. I'm curious about what the listed weight is for Tech and Track packs, but the certificate of origin usually goes straight to the DMV for record keeping, so it's not exactly readily available information.you may be right! when I weigh an aircraft I calculate for consumables like fuels and oils. Here's mine! ... and yes, Ca DMV took it from me when I registered. :doh:I'm curious about what the listed weight is for Tech and Track packs, but the certificate of origin usually goes straight to the DMV for record keeping, so it's not exactly readily available information.
Yup, Tech. I'm glad I snapped a picture of it before I handed it over... really cool to add to the collection. You have a tech pack right? That's really interesting that the shipping weights are the same. I'm going to make a copy of my MCO before I hand it over to the DMV, lol.
Again, gas at ~6 lbs per gal @ 16 gal, is ~ 100 lbs. If youre correct about the transport company's measurement, what the heck is going on with the weights? And surely, a tech pack is heavier than a bare bones GT350, so why are they the same?Yup, Tech. I'm glad I snapped a picture of it before I handed it over... really cool to add to the collection.
Also, I forget the weight my shipping company weighed it at, but it was very close to that 3512 number. I was 1 mile to empty when it came off the truck.
The issue is the type is listed as Shipping Weight. They aren't shipping these cars sans fluid. Only thing not full is the gas tank. Also, his tech pack and my base is listed as the same shipping weight at 3,512 lbs.Im pretty sure shipping weight is the car sans all fluids. Add in oil, coolant, wiper fluid, gas, etc and it adds up.
