Wanting to get some 285 or 295s for the rear of my PP car this spring, and im noticing there are VERY few options out there in those sizes for a 19 inch wheel. Id like to get some all seasons for a decent price, but all I can find are Michelins and a couple other REALLY expensive tires like $400+ a piece on tire rack and discount tire. Anybody found some affordable tires in those sizes anywhere?

Ohhh I was trying to find the 285 40. Does the car do OK with a shorter tire like that? Wouldn't your odometer be off quite a bit?

I recommend a 285/35/19 tire brotha its a standard size recommendation we in the industry stand by, the car will be fine and your OD wont fluctuate more then the acceptable amount.

Plus youll save money as well.

285 35 19 for the stock PP wheel size? If you do that out back, what size can you do up front to match?

i am planning to reuse my TSW wheels in OEM PP sizes after the winter and also considered a 285 rear tire 40 series and Michelin does make a PSS

i have 285-35-19 tires on 3 of my cars which have 9.5 ,10.5-11 wide wheels and the sidewall looks damn small compared to the 40's., these are not my daily driver cars. I may order 1 tire from the Tirerack and see how it looks on a rim before i commit otherwise il just stick to OEM sizes. I think a 285-40-19 might look good on the 9.5 rim and give it a nice muscle car look.

if anyone decides to try this first please let me know or post in this thread

Ive done the 285/35/19 on a 9.5 and a 285/40/19 on a 9.5 the 40 profile does fill it up a bit more, but it all depends on the tire.

yes tires all vary the PSS seem to be the smallest where as the P Zero has a much boxier profile. even Nitto tend to be tall from experience years back with the NT05. I never use Conti, Dunlop or anthing else. I did have good experience with a few ultra high perf Bridgestones

i still think i am going to run 284-40-19 out back on the 9.5 rim. I am going to order tires today just to visually see how they look before i 100% commit. i\ Paul do you have any photos on file of the 285-40-19 on a 9.5 rim? doesnt have to be on a Mustang
