Just wanted to check with people in the know. I'm pretty sure the Kooks GE-307540 cats are actually just re-branded GESi 10030 cats. Am i right?

Performance Industries in Coppell TX “was” manufacturing the metal substrate catalytic converters for GESI also known as Green Cats.

My "green" Kooks cats were smoked in 5000 miles. Falling apart and plugging up.

I have kooks Cats and just found one that fell apart and plugged up the exhaust at the first bend past the cat. Mine is N/A and only 430hp at the rear wheels used as a track car, so its not just a big HP thing. Took about 3500 track miles to destroy mine.

It seems the green cats are more fragile than their original ones? Most of the failure i've been reading seem to be from the green cats which have a 400 cpsi instead of the 300 cpsi of the regular ones. I suspect the substrate probably has to be made thinner in order to achieve the higher cell count in the same size can, which in turn make the substrate more susceptible to damage and deformation at high temperatures?

I don't have to worry about the EPA, so i'm going to run the 300 cpsi version. I'm also not boosted, and don't track the car any more, so should last. At only $200 a cat its worth a try!

Are GESi cats currently available for sale ? I see a lot of “unavailable” online.
