Can you please point me to these instructions?

Has anyone had success programming a new key without both original keys?
The procedure is actually in your owner's manual. I think you have to have two keys to program a third, though I don't believe they have to be the factory-original keys.

At the time of purchasing my car, my dealer actually told me they would give me 2 free FOB replacements for the life of the car should they be lost or damaged.. I hope it's true.. Lol.

I got a new one off of eBay for the manual transmission for only $32. Just had to be a little patient. I set up a daily search using the FCC ID off of my existing key (M3N-A2C31243800).

Can anyone confirm the FCC ID# for a automatic transmission car?

There is a small square sticker on the ring of the key, but mine is too worn to read the number. So if anyone has a pretty new car, they should still be able to read the number.

I realize this might be a bit late but the FCC id on my auto is M3N-A2C31243300. I picked one up on Ebay this morning due to breaking the retaining clip.

Yes but only the dealership can do it with one fob. End users needs both original fobs to program an additional fob. You could still buy it on Ebay to save some money then pay whatever the programming rate is at the dealer.

you can program up to 8 keys to the car I think. Instructions are in the manual.
Unfortunately, you need 2 keys to do so....

Programming a Spare Intelligent Access Key
Note: You can program a maximum of four intelligent access keys to your vehicle.
You must have two previously programmed intelligent access keys inside your vehicle and the new unprogrammed intelligent access keys readily accessible.

Okay, so if I am proactive and buy one on eBay before losing a key, then I can reprogram it myself, correct?
Yes. If you could program a new fob with just one working fob, any valet or anyone who works on your car could make their own. Requiring two is not to make life harder for the owner but for thieves.
