I was gonna add these to some of the pic threads but felt it needed its own story.
I just purchased a Mach 1, Velocity Blue. I’ve always dreamed of having my own mustang but time, career, family and never really finding the “one”got in the way. I’ve always been picky and I had a built in romanticism about the idea.
My reasons for this have to do with my father. He is the original owner of a 71 Mach 1, 429 CJ, bright blue metallic. 46K original miles, all original paint, he has kept it in good shape all these years. I grew up with this car, it’s been a part Of my life since I was born (I’m 40) and the idea of having my “one” mustang took hold all those years ago.
Last June in the middle of all the crap the announcement and pics of the new Mach 1 felt like a sign. It was the Mustang I’ve dreamed of, it was a Mach. I committed to trying my best to make it happen. I paid off my daily driver, I worked double hard to secure any bonuses. I socked money away where I could, including cutting out silly purchases like take out food. I had to make it happen or at least make an honest effort.
The end result: my own blue Mach 1. It’s perfect, and it’s 50 years since my fathers.
finally got to his house to take some pics and I wanted to share with all the great enthusiasts on this forum. Life can be hard sometimes but it makes the great stuff that much better.
